There are so many things that we want to change; to be able to say “we achieved this”. The point is that if God is truly the only God in our lives, than we will be respectful of each other. We will work in the community, we will truly worship. We are going to backwards into the problem, and falling over. “Let’s do this,” we to each other. We may produce an excellent strategy, and heart-warming mission statement and a brilliant report, but only the Maker of our hearts can renew our hearts. Only the Saviour can redeem us in our sinful, selfish nature, and only our Lord can give us all these characteristics that we are trying so hard to obtain. Vision, caring, tolerance, kindness, patience, love, creativity, diversity, spirituality, good working morale and forgiveness.
How can we come in contact with something so big and beyond our very nature and being? That was what the re-incarnation was all about. God in us, with us, for us, through us. Big things very often begin small. The Saviour of the world was born in a manger. An idea, a faith the size of a mustard seed, goes on to change the world. A prayer in the morning can change your day. Reading the word can change your vision and focus. And a longing in your heart to do the will of God that is nourished every day can change you and your bring you and the one who is the real and only key to success in our ministry closer and closer. Nearer my God to thee, nearer to thee.
